I SO wanted this post to be a labor of love. However, after usingsome of the products, it quickly turned into a labor of pain! You all know I heart THREE, but this Holiday Collection was somewhat of a disappointment.

THREE's Holiday Collection retailed for ¥7,350 ($82.41), and included a Limited Edition 4D Eye Palette, in X02 Iceblink Puzzle as well as two mini Glam Touch Lip Glosses, in X3 Snow Beat and X4 Snow Heat.

As always, you get a generous size mirror with every palette :P

4D Eye Palette in X02 Iceblink Puzzle.

Swatches of the 4D Eye Palette X02 Iceblink Puzzle.

My issues with this palette was the lack of performance with three (the bluish-purple cream shadow with the silver, blue and red glitter, and the silvered-ivory, and pale seafoam green shadows) of the four shadows in the quad. Although, I do love the stunning defused looks you can achieve with this palette, the journey to get there was just too strenuous; particularly because the palettes, in the permanent line, perform SO effortlessly.

Glam Touch Lip Gloss X3 Snow Beat and X4 Snow Heat.

From left to right: Color Veil for Cheeks 12 Wanderlust, Glam Touch Lip Glosses X3 Snow Beat and X4 Snow Heat.

THREE's Color Veil for Cheeks in 12 Wanderlust is not included in the collection.  But, I did use it in both of the looks featured in this post; so, I added it to the swatches for color reference. Both Glam Touch Lip Glosses did not disappoint; Providing a juicy, moisturizing, pop of sparkly color to the lips.

In case you're wondering what happened to my new hair color, these photos were taken before I dyed my hair .

Even though, I was disenchanted with the eyeshadow palette, I do love the finished looks created with this collection. I'm glad I have it, but I won't recommend it.

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.

    1. Thank you Audrey! My hair is naturally curly, but I hardly ever wear it that way.

  3. Awe, sad face:(
It's an Iceblink puzzle to me how something that looks so promising can end up being so meh!
This palette REALLY looks beautiful. What a disappointment:(

I'm interested in the Spring Duos, but I think I'll hold off until I spot a few swatches.

    1. I know!

I actually like the palette, but when you compare it to other palettes in the permanent lineup, it's performance it a little lacking. But I do love the looks created from Iceblink puzzle.

By the way, I've played with all the THREE Spring duos, and you need to get them ALL!!!! GORGEOUSNESS in a palette!!

Also, STAY AWAY from Suqqu Spring Face Colour Palette!! The pretty pearl shape highlighter side is pure chalk in a pan!!! All other items are fab!

    2. Thanks for the tip on the Suqqu face colour palette. I'll have to see how I get out of my order ;)
The three palettes are also ordered, so it's just a waiting game now. If you find time PLEASE do some of your great swatches. There aren't enough out there yet!
I kind of like the idea of the THREE Spring duos. Have you seen them up close yet?

    3. I am such a GOOF... I was reading SUQQU when you said the THREE duos were great!! I'm onto it:))

I've cancelled my face palette on your judgement. You make the BEST out of everything & if you say 'STAY AWAY' then I hear you:)

    4. Glad you were able to cancel the Suqqu face palette from your order. Such a disappointment!

I've played with the THREE duos serveral times at the counters, but haven't picked them up yet, since I've been wrangling up all the limited edition spring pieces first. But you know I'll get them all (probably next week) and post them with some looks as well :)

    1. Actually, their permanent quads are lovely, and definitely worth looking into :)

  5. I think the darkest shade in the palette is supposed to be used as a base color (it was suggested in the past quads, but I'm not sure about this one), as it turned out, limited editions from Three is somehow more like a treasure to look at rather than use (talking about last year's Xmas set).

I love all Three quads, but I think based on the official use guide, their outcomes are just different neutrals. Looking forward to the spring duos though. I ordered 5 of those loose eyeshadow powder, wonder how they perform!

    1. All quads come with a cream shadow base, but they can be used several different way.

I love the new duos!!! You won't be disappointed!!

  6. I had seen pictures of this collection and almost ordered it-- the colors looked so beautiful in the promotional pictures, and coupled with your past glowing reviews of THREE quads, it seemed like a no brainer. I'm so glad I didn't pay the exorbitant fees the U.S. online retailers were asking for it. Thank you for the review!

    1. Actually, the palette swatched beautifully at the counter...odd!

I still like the palette, but I don't LOVE it as much as my other THREE palettes.

    2. That happened to me with the Chantecaille Sharks palette, inversely. I had pre-ordered the palette from Neiman when I spied the tester at Nordstrom. Two of the three shades were chalky, and patchy on application. I was so disappointed I couldn't cancel the Neiman order- it had shipped. Thankfully, the one I got was perfect. Very odd.
