The Peculiar Purple Polish of Porcupine Peak...Ah Rata tata tata tata tatah! RMK Nail Color P-34 Deep Purple

"All the other colors are just colors, but purple seems to have a soul. Purple is not just a noun and an adjective, but also a verb- When you look at it, it's looking back at you." -Uniek Swain.

With all of its various shades and complexities, purple is a color that really has a life of its own...and RMK's Nail Color in P-34 Deep Purple demands your attention.

P-34 Deep Purple is a magnificent, blackened-royal purple riddle with pink, violet and sapphire blue shimmer. The formula is thick, but applies easily, and it's almost opaque in one coat. I get about four to five days of wear before experiencing any tip wear.

sfsdf No photo can do this illustrious polish any justice; it needs to be experienced first-hand in order to admire all its beauty. RMK's P-34 Deep Purple has become one of my favorite purple polishes in my collection.

Going Green With Beautylabo's Royal Brown.

My hair was turning too gold for my liking, so it was time for change. I'm not sure if Royal Brown is a new color or not, but I purchased it on Rakuten.co.jp for ¥585 per box (and my hair takes four).

Items included in the box.

Royal Brown is a BEAUTIFUL deep golden brown with a green tinge. In person, the color is darker, and I'm not sure if you can see the green tinge in the photo above, but I'm utterly in LOVE with this color <3 And after four washes, the green has faded a little, but color is still going strong.

Comfort & Cranberry Joy, The Body Shop Shower Gel

January's shower gel is The Body Shop's Cranberry Joy. This is my first time trying the seasonal scent, and after 3 weeks of use, I like it. Cranberry Joy has a frosty, sparkling cranberry scent that's delicious for Winter's nippy weather. Although Soap-free, this shower gel lathers well and leaves my skin feeling clean.

Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum!

Sorry for not posting in over two weeks, but work-life has been very demanding (in a good way). I'm off for the next few days, so hopefully I can upload all the Fall and Holiday purchases I had made. Yes, most brands have already released their Spring collections, but it's still Winter, and it's way too cold for pretty pastels and the like :P

Suqqu Blend Color Eyeshadow EX-15 hanaazuki.

Ever since I purchased Suqqu's Blend Color Eyeshadow in EX-15 hanaazuki (Hana is flower and Azuki is red bean in Japanese. so it translates to red bean flower), I haven't been able to put it down.

Suqqu Blend Color Eyeshadow EX-15 hanaazuki swatches.

Over the last few months, I've used this palette 4 out of 7 days on a weekly basis. I've already made dents on
the brownish-plum-mauve, muted celery green and dark brownish-plum eye shadows.

The Other Boleyn Polish

Released in the Fall of 2010, as part of the Housewives of Tudor Collection (can't remember the collection's proper name :P), Rescue Beauty Lounge's Anne was my introduction to the brand. Being a history nut, I was drawn to the polish because of the tragic historical figure it was named after, Anne Boleyn. And, just as Anne had captivated Henry VIII, I was bewitched by the polish's unique complexity.

 In natural light.

Anne is an enchanting murky, tarnished olive green, with old gold, lime green, and magenta pink shimmers. The formula is just as marvelous as the shade; full coverage with two coats, and I get five days of wear before experiencing my first chip.

With Flash (neither photo captures Anne in all its amazingness).

Whenever I wear Anne, I find myself completely enthralled and enamored. In my humble opinion, Anne is one of, if not the best, polishes from Rescue Beauty Lounge.

What was your first Rescue Beauty Lounge polish?

Searching For Beauty Products Is Half The Fun: So Lonely In Gorgeous Scavenger Hunt Giveaway!

Today's the last day of the scavenger hunt giveaway, as well as my five year wedding anniversary. I'll be announcing the winner next Sunday (time to dig out another hat :P).

Aki and I rough-housing in one of the dressing rooms were we had our reception. Please ignore the chaotic mess all around us.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Whose Cuisine Reigns Supreme? Shepherd's Pie

Can I just say that I'm very pleased with my impromptu Shepherd's Pie! I've been craving this hearty dish and, although I've never made it before, the results are delectable.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil.
2 Tablespoons of Butter (or margarine).
3 Tablespoons of Tomato Sauce.
3 Tablespoons of Worcestershire Sauce.
4 Cubes of Beef Bouillon Cubes.
Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder and Onion Powder (season to your preferred taste).
3 Large Carrots (peeled and chopped).
300g Bag of Frozen Green Peas.
1 1/2 pounds of lean ground beef.
Cheddar Cheese (go crazy with this topping).
Parsley (garnish).
Mashed Potatoes (you can make it by scratch or use instant. I used instant because that's what I had on hand, and I also like the brand. *tip* Whether I make my mashed potatoes by scratch or otherwise, I always add sour cream to enrich the flavor).

Unfortunately, the majority of my concocting was done BEFORE it occurred to me to add this recipe as a blog post; so, I only have two pictures.

1. Make your mashed potatoes and set it aside.

2. In a large pan, add the olive oil and carrots and cook at a medium heat until tender.

3. Add the lean ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder.

4. Add the butter and frozen green peas.

5. Add the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, beef bouillon cubes (crumble the cubes with your hands and add to the meat).

6. Lightly grease oven-safe glass dish with butter, and add meat mixture.

7. Top with the mashed potatoes, cover with cheddar cheese and sprinkle with parsley.

8. Bake at 350 (180) until cheese it golden brown.

Aki attacked the Shepherd's Pie before I got to photograph it.

Let's Celebrate!

Happy New Year! May every day of 2014 glow as brilliantly as your highlighter :P Last night, Aki and I reigned in the year at our friend, Mattiaz's, house. Everyone had a great time, and Aki had way too much glögg. However, the New Year isn't official until my best friend (Alex) and I watch the Poseidon Adventure; not the blasphemous 2006 remake, but the proper 1972 release, with it's legendary, star-studded cast. This tradition started fifteen years ago, and to keep with our custom, He and I will be watching the movie together via Skype.

What traditions do you have for the New Year?
