I'll Have My Nails Sunny Side Up, Please! Ducato Nail Polish

Hello guys! Bear with me, I've come down with the plague, and I feel like death! Anyhow...

From sunny brights to murky dark shades, yellow is a color I love to wear during Summer, and Fall. Ducato's Sunny Side Up is a polish I'm going to get a lot of wear of during both seasons. But, for now, let's focus on Summer.

As I was writing the color description for Sunny Side Up, I couldn't recall its name. And, when I read the label, I thought, "how apropos" because this polish is just that, an orangey-egg yolk yellow, with a jelly finish.

Being that this is a jelly, and try as I might, I know it's going to be difficult (if not impossible) to achieve full opacity. However, I don't mind applying multiple coats, especially for a shade I like, to get the results I prefer. Now, I will admit, I did cheat. I trimmed my nails a bit, so the nail line wouldn't be so pronounced; thus, making the manicure appear more opaque. I'm wearing five coats of Sunny Side Up, and you can still see my nail line peeking through. Looks like I'm going to go through this bottle very quickly!

This is my second time wearing Sunny Side Up, and from what I can remember, it wore for a full four days.

A Real Smoothie...Ducato N 83 Berry, Berry Smoothie

Hey all! How's your week going? Golden Week is underway over here, and I'm doing exactly what I want to do, which is nothing. I didn't want to have any commitments, and whatever it is I'm going to do, I want to play it by ear.

Anyway, the last four day's I've been wearing Ducato's N 83 Berry, Berry Smoothie; a dusty, mauve-lilac, loaded with microscopic silver, violet, baby blue and copper glitter. The glitters are so tiny, you can only see them from up-close or in certain angles.

Where's the glitter? I couldn't capture the glitters (they are microscopic, you know), but they're in there! 

On the first coat, the formula goes on sheer, but evenly. Depending on application, the whites of the nail line and preference, you are able to get full color on the second coat. However, I do prefer the look of Berry, Berry Smoothie when it's layered a third time. Btw, the finish is rather dull; therefore, a top coat is required.

I've worn Berry, Berry Smoothie three times, and I usually get tip wear on the third or fourth day.

Even though the glitters are teeny tiny, their coloring gives Berry Berry Smoothie's dusty shade a pretty nuance.

Ducato Cut The Mustard! Ducato Natural Nail N80

After years of ogling Ducato's Natural Nail polishes, the limited edition release of shade N80 Mustard was too gorgeous to ignore. 

N80 Mustard is a deep, muted English mustard cream laded with mustard and copper micro shimmers. I adore shades like this, especially for Fall. I was really impressed with the quality and performance of the polishes "just right" formula. The first coat applies sheer, but evenly. With the exception of a hint of nail line showing, the second coat is basically opaque. However, I prefer to completely mask the nails, and love the color depths achieved with the third coat. From the first coat, the shimmers are apparent on the nails, and become more evident with every layer. Also, the finish is very glossy.

I got N80 Mustard last Thursday, and I've been wearing it since Friday. So far, my manicure is incident free...pretty impressive for a 648 yen nail polish. Smitten with the shade and performance of this polish, I see myself adding Ducato Natural Nail to my "brands obsessed with" list. Even now, I'm planning on purchasing the other limited edition shade that grabbed my attention, i.e. a bordeaux red.
