"Pat, pat, pat"...that's the sound of me patting myself on the back. For the first time (in a long time), I didn't let my OCD get the best of me by showing some restraint and only purchasing one of the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters :O

The Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter's have the same quilted diamond shape pattern lid as the Colorburst Lipsticks. Except, the Lip Butter lids come in a frosted translucent shade to match every color in the line. Also, the top of the lid has a cute skylight that allows you to peek at the actually color of the product; but we all know...what you see isn't allows what you swatch  : O

In the tube you get .09 oz of product, .04 oz less than a regular Colorburst Lipstick. A little disappointing, since there isn't much of a price difference between the two.

Photo of Red Velvet taken indoors

I chose Red Velvet for two reasons, it's name and the shade. I LOVE red velvet cake (feel a craving coming on) and thought it would be a nice shade to add to my holiday lineup; but mainly I just love red velvet cake.  Red Velvet is a deep brick red that is neutral in tone, it doesn't lean towards being too orange-y or blue.

Yesterday, I applied Red Velvet at 12:19, before leaving my apartment. After a day of casual talking, a few bottles of water, lunch, a few more bottles of water, sneaking in a snack :P,  at 5:19 (I set the alarm on my cell), although some of the shine was gone, the color was still going strong. In addition, throughout the day my lips never felt tight nor chapped.

Revlon's Colorburst Lip butter seem to be a hybrid of a lip balm and lipstick. I found Red Velvet to be very pigmented, shiny, moisturizing and quite long lasting. Now, I wouldn't replace any of my lip conditioners with the lip butters, but they are a nice alternative to some of my thicker feeling lipsticks >: P

Have you tried any of the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter's?

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.

  1. I know the lip butters have been really big... but when I see them in store, most of them don't look very flattering or wearable... I am a fan of this red... (><)

  2. Ari, I highly recommend this red. it's a very flattering red and I think it would look pretty on you :) I wish I were in the states so I can get my hands on more of them. I'm curious to try/compare one of the lighter shades.
