Loss of Zest... L'Occitane Verveine Agrumes Shower Gel & Sorbet Body Cream

Sorry for the lack of posts, but this always happens to me: I try to post every day, and I'm doing fairly well uploading content regularly, then life decides to throw a monkey wrench into my momentum. Aside from the demands of my typical life/work, I'v also been working on a project, and then my friends Troy and Nat were in Town. And, whenever you have friends visiting out of town, your regular life gets put on hold, and once they're gone, it take a while to get everything back into the scheme of things.

I originally purchased L'Occitane's Verveine Agrumes Shower Gel and Sorbet Body Cream for August. But, after discovering The Body Shop's Pinita Colada Shower Gel & Fresh Body Sorbet, these products got bumped into September.

The Citrus Verbena line is one of my favorite fragrances from the brand; it's invigorating, zesty, lemony scent of the citrus verbena line provides a must needed refreshing release in all this heat and humidity (mainly the humidity) that doesn't subside until mid October.

Verveine Agrumes Shower Gel: it's been a while since I've used it (and I'm not sure if something has changed), but I wasn't 100% thrilled with the shower gel. At first, it has that zesty, lemony scent I love. However, after a while in smells a little pinesol-y. Also, the shower gel was very watery, and didn't lather very well.

Verveine Agrumes Sorbet Body Cream: Unlike the shower gel, the Sorbet Body Cream was just as I remembered it; it smells and feels amazingly. A lightweight, gel-like consistency that is moisturizing, non-sticky, soothing, and adsorbs instantly into the skin.

Have you tried L'Occitane's Verveine Agrumes Collection?

If You Like Pina Coladas...The Body Shop Pinita Colada Shower Gel & Fresh Body Sorbet

Oh, how I miss virgin pina coladas. There are few places here that make them...and the ones that do, serve a sugarless, watered-down pineapple juice, with a drop of coconut milk with way too much crushed ice. I'm going to have to repurchase a blender.

So, as I was walking past the The Body Shop entrance on my way to Isetan, I saw the Pinita Colada products, and I couldn't help but stop and pick a few items.

While meandering around the store, I checked The Body Shop's US site, and saw there was also an exfoliating body scrub. I looked, and looked, and looked, but it wasn't offered over here...curses!

Pinita Colada Shower Gel: August is the hottest month in Tokyo. So, I thought this would be a perfect Summery scent to start my day, before everything turns into a sweltering hell. The shower gel has a creamy lather that feels luscious. The skin is left clean, soft with a delicious, tropical coconut and pineapple fragrance that lingers for an hour or two.

Pinita Colada Fresh Body Sorbet: I was going to get the Body Butter, but found the Body Sorbet had a truer pina colada scent. The body Sorbet has an interesting lightweight, pureed-gel-like consistency. What I liked most about the body sorbet was how quickly it absorbed into the skin. I could get dressed right after applying, without any icky stickiness.

Although I liked the Pinita Colada Shower Gel and Fresh Body Sorbet, there was this synthetic scent that would peek through when using both products. It wasn't a deal breaker, or off-putting, but it did lessen my overall pina colada enjoyment of the collection.

In My Own Wonderland

Thanks to my beloved sissy Jane (of Wondegondigo fame), I'm able to prolong my obsession of Sabon's Exploring Wonderland Collection. Thank you Jane, and I heart you!

Yes, I got a bigger boat and purchased the 650ml size of the Wonderland Shower Oil. On a monthly basis, I never consecutively use the same body wash scent (I like to pair scents based on what I'm feeling that month). However, I'm in LOVE with the seductive notes of Bergamot, Mandarin, Musk, and notes of Rose and Violet of this collection, as well as how swimmingly it pairs with my winter hair products and perfume. February is just about over, and I'm almost at the half way mark of the bottle. Thus, the Wonderland Shower Oil will also be my body wash for March, and I'm perfectly content with that.

At the time the Exploring Wonderland Collection launched, I held off getting the body lotion and hand cream because I was in the middle of using some other products. Of course, when I was ready to purchase them, they were long gone (again, thank you Jane).

I adore the bohemian-esque etched detailing of the red frosted glass, and label print, of the body lotion; it truly adds to the pampering experience. Same amazing Wonderland scent, the body lotion is full of Omega 3,6,7,9, and Vitamins A+ E, and Formulated with Olive, Avocado, Borage, Wheat Germ Oils. My skin drinks up the body lotion, leaving it smooth and moisturized, without feeling sticky.

It's a shame to keep this hand cream concealed in my bag, because the tube's pattern and colors are so beautiful, I want to display it. Not only does it keep my hands soft, and hydrated, the hand cream absorbs quickly leaving no greasy residue, and smells heavenly.

I'm going to have to buy backups of all the products from the Exploring Wonderland collection because they're limited edition (I really need this line to be made perm), and I don't want to be without them next winter.

All Graveolent, No Glory! Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter Body Butter

This past Sunday, while tidying up my apartment, I found Soap & Glory's The Righteous Butter Body Butter (can they add any more butter to the name?!) in a box. I'm almost certain I got rid of this body butter, but there it was...staring back...mocking me, just like the cat from "The Cat Came Back" song. This 50 ml/1.69 us fl.oz size was a Sephora Beauty Insider Punishment...excuse me, I meant reward. The Righteous Butter Body Butter claims to have a new dynamic moisture trap matrix that helps prolong, and lock in moisture, and soften the skin. Promising claims, and possibly true, but I couldn't get past the revolting smell. Oh my goodness! I think patchouli smells better than this body butter...and that's saying a lot because I loath patchouli! The first time (and only time) I used this moisturizer, I put it on my arms and legs. Immediately, I was overwhelmed by the vile scent of a floral perfume gone bad (rotted), mixed with laundry detergent, and crushed up vitamin pill supplements. I started to get a headache and feel sick from this product, quickly taking a shower, and ridding myself of this horrid fragrance. For those of you who like this product, this post is not meant to offend or insult. But Soap & Glory and I we not meant to be. And as a the late, great Gen. George S. Patton once said, "If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking."

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.

When Life Hands You Lemons, Make Fragrances & Body Creams! L'Occitane Citrus Verbena Summer Fragrance & Sorbet Body Cream

L'Occitane's Citrus Verbena Collection is one of my favorite Summer scents. I love the light, refreshing, citrus scent of both these products.

The Summer Fragrance is a deliciously invigorating, crisp scent that's not overpowering during hot and humid weather. The sorbet body cream is just as lovely; it has a lightweight, gel-like consistency that is moisturizing, soothing and adsorbs instantly into the skin.

What fragrance and body cream are you enjoying this Summer?

L'OCCITANE'S LEMON & HONEY

Good morning lovelies

It was very hard to get out of bed this morning (actually, I'm still in bed : P). Once again the day overcast and grey, it's beginning to feel like the UK here in Japan (oh, it's raining now).

Yesterday, I finished my last bottle of L'occitane's Lemon and Honey foaming jelly shower gel (sadness). I thought I still had another bottle but to my dismay, I was wrong :'( .

This was one of my favorite fall scents and I can't believe it was discontinued. L'occitane's Lemon and Honey line was amazing. This line was the best union of the honey and lemon scent EVER!

The fragrance of honey is soft , whereas the lemon is a mixture of both sweet and tart. There are also notes of vanilla, patchouli (I'm actually not a fan of patchouli but it's presence here is very soft and clean), and a warm musky woods. A great scent for fall.

Last time I was in the states, I saw that this line was still available at the L'occitane outlet store in sawgrass mills mall. So, if you have a L'occitane store in your outlet mall you may be able to find this :)

I still have the Honey and Lemon Eau De Toilette and the Delightful body cream
