A Tint Out of Water... Chanel Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint

Typhoon Hagibis ushered in the long overdue Autumn weather. So, as the temperature drops, and my complexion's summer color fades, I'd say I have another weeks use of Chanel's Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint in Medium Plus.

Preface: if you enjoy full-coverage foundation, or are in need of concealing any imperfections, this may not be the product for you.

Chanel makes plastic look luxurious. I love the look, and feel of the bottle.

Also, I like how the clear plastic allows you to see how much product is left in the bottle.

Included with the Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint, a nifty brush that actually works wonderfully at applying the product.

Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint in Medium Plus

Japan offers three of the six shades in the Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint: Light, Medium Light, and Medium. Although Medium matched me perfectly, I wanted a deeper shade to enhance my summer coloring, and give me a faux tanned effect. So, I ordered the shade Medium Plus from the states.

I've used the Water-Fresh Tint as a primer as well as on its own, and both result were great. However, I found myself solely using it in place of foundation for the entirety of the summer season.

This product is exactly what Chanel claims it to be, a complexion tint. The base contains 75% water and encapsulates pigment micro-droplets. The Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint gives the complexion an almost blurred, veiled uniformed, bare-skin effect. My face looks and feels hydrated, plump, with a healthy, radiant sheen.

I've been using Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint for over 4 months, and I love it. For summer, I wanted an extremely lightweight, no-hassle base product that would hydrate, even out, as well as give warmth to my complexion; and it checked off all the boxes. I love this product so much! I'm going to buy the Medium shade, and wear it on those fall and winter days when I can't be bothered to wear foundation.

Feeling Amorous

Due to bad "swatching" weather conditions (I have photos of the products and looks, but I need to swatch most of the items), my "End of Summer" beauty collections countdown is moving along at a snail's pace. Apparently, this week, we may have three typhoons; so, I don't foresee much improvement in the weather.

I preferred the shade selections, and the two finishes (frost and matte with sparkles), of the stylo eyeshadows from this season's Mediterranee collection than the ones from 2013's L'Ete Papillion de Chanel.

I almost didn't get Azulejo 117; I'm getting up there in age, and I'm not sure how long I can sport the aqua blues. However, when I blended Azulejo out on the back of my hand, I fell for its gorgeous murky green sheen. I though is would look pretty layered over Olivine 137, a murky, medium sage green with sparse aqua blue sparkle. When applying directly from the tube, Olivine dries very quickly. So, I found the warmth from the tips of my fingers made blending a little easier.

Amorosa 487 is a muted, rosewood-brown with gold micro-shimmer. Of the four Rouge Coco Shines released in the collection, Amorosa is my favorite; I have a thing for brown lip products.

A Dip In The Mediterranee...Chanel Le Vernis

I have a ton of products to swatch, and I've had nothing but gray skies and rain for the last two weeks; any day now, my neighbors will be an audience to my interpretive, anti-rain dance.

Mediterranee 707 is a mesmerizing, muted, medium teal-blue with a beautiful glossy, creme (slightly jelly) finish. The formula for Mediterranee is spectacular; it applies smoothly, flawlessly, and, most astounding of all...it's opaque in one coat! Although this vernis can stand alone with one coat, out of habit (and, joy in applying), I applied two.

Another great feature of Mediterranee 707, is its six to seven day wear time. I'm not sure what magical unicorn juice Chanel is putting in their most recent polishes, but the brand is winning my heart back.

Summer Filled My Veins With Light

When I saw the gorgeous and vibrantly bronzed look from Chanel's Mediterranee 2015 promotional image, with that "come-hither" purple on the waterline, I was sold.

Another breathtaking embossed powder from Chanel, Lumiere d'Ete Illuminating Powder is a slightly warm/neutral, medium tawny-brown with a golden-tinged, luminous sheen. The satiny, gelee-powder texture is firm, yet silky smooth, and it melts onto the skin; thus, giving a lovely bronzed glow.

I love the pairing of these products, and the bronzed, with a "punch of color" Summer look they create.

A Scarlet Poppy Grew...Chanel 717 Coquelicot Le Vernis Nail Colour

I'm totally enamored with Chanel's 717 Coquelicot. I sometimes find myself cradling Coquelicot in my hands, thinking, how I almost passed it up...what a loss and shame, that would have been for my collection?!

Befitting its name, 717 Coquelicot is a sightly peppy, warm poppy (got a little tongue twister there) with a glossy, creme-jelly finish. The formula is absolutely dreamy! With it's "no hassle" application, 717 Coquelicot is almost opaque in one coat, and flawless after two.

Although not terrible unique, 717 Coquelicot is still a gorgeous shade, and its great formula and finish just adds to its vibrant, summertime beauty.

The Exclusive Goal Of Taste

We're almost one month into Summer, and the weather as been everything but Summery. We had three days of sun, and of course, I decided to take the next few days off and we're back to cloudy skies.

Lately, I've been giving a lot of love to Chanel's Rouge Allure in 152 Insaisissable, and here's a look of me wearing Insaisissable on a casual outing.

I took this photo well-over five months ago, and trust me, it no longer looks this way.

Are you are much of a sucker for pattern designs on products as I am? I'm like a "hungry hippo," gobbling them up at the beauty counters. I don't mean to sound like an ingrate because I do like the Jardin de Chanel Blush Camelia Rose Blusher. However, as precious as the two-tone Camellia Rose design is, and as pretty as the warm,muted rosy-pink flush is, I must be frank, the shade isn't terribly unique.

Seems Like Without Tenderness There's Something Missing...Chanel 641 Tenderly Le Vernis Nail Colour

What's the weather like on your side of the world? For the last month (yes, an entire month), I've been plagued with grey skies and/or heavy rains; the rainy season this year has been merciless.

The weather has been all gloom and showers, with a few sparse days of sunshine (on days I work of course. Curse Murphy and his law!).

Anyway, a large amount of the Summer Collections I've purchased are waiting to be shipped from the states (love you sissy), and what I do have here, I have them tucked away, waiting for brighter days for swatching.

Until then, and more fitting for the current weather, I've continued using many of the muted colored products from previous Spring Collections.

I own all three of the Le Vernis Nail Colours from the Reverie Parisienne Spring 2015, but I must say, 641 Tenderly is my favorite. I adore mute shades, and Tenderly is a beautiful muted, medium grayish-plum-mauve. I found Tenderly had a great formula and had a long wear time (about five days). Also, I loved the "no need for a top coat" high shine of the creme-jelly finish.

A Strikingly Vivid Mirage

If you've even lived in, or traveled to, Tokyo during August or September, you'll know how relentlessly cruel the heat and humidity are. The heat and humidity levels really don't begin to drop until mid October. However, the temperature seemed to cool the other day...so, I cracked open and wore some of my new Fall products. With the maintained humidity levels between 70-80%, and the rising temperature throughout the day, I was a profusely sweaty, Autumnal mess! So, until the humidity drops, Fall makeup looks will have to wait.

Also, I have loads of folders on my laptop of all the Summer collections/products/looks that I never got around to posting; I thought about deleting them and recreating the looks next Summer. But, that would be a shame...and I'm still using many of the products because it's still warm and humid over here. Besides, it has to be Summer somewhere in the world, right?! So, bear with me as Ibombard the blog with an onslaught of belated Summer.

Mamma Mirabella! Chanel Le Vernis 623 Mirabella & 613 Eastern Light

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in! Overall, I have a great love for Chanel's winsome, and often times, enticing shades. However, that's not to say that I'm never disappointed with the formula, finish, and the performance of some of the brands polishes...which recently, has been the case. When it comes to high-end polishes, expectations and demands are much shrewder and less forgiving.

When the Reflects D'Ete de Chanel polishes were released, I was going to pass on the entire lot. But, Mirabella kept nagging me, then Tutti Frutti, and so one...until finally, I purchased four of the five polishes.

623 Mirabella is a beautiful, muted, yet still a vibrant carrot-orange, with a high-gloss creme finish. To my surprise, it was 97% opaque in one coat, and wore for four days before showing tip wear; very good indeed :)

613 Eastern Light is a crisp, "liquid paper" white, with a creme finish. I had very low expectations for this polish. Although there were minor issues with unevenness and streaking (which was corrected after two coats), Eastern Light is a very pretty, glossy white nail lacquer.

I loved the Reflects D'Ete de Chanel manicure promo image that showed Mirabella layered over Eastern Light (don't be surprised if you see it pop up on the blog). To conceal Mirabella's tip wear, I reversed the pairing, and layered Eastern Light over it. The end result: an accidental resemblance to 1970's vintage home decor, and I like it..the manicure, not the home decor.

Turn Your Face To The Sun...Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base

This Summer, I picked up my fifth tub of Chanel's Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base. Out of all my bronzers, this one is always in high rotation.
This Summer, I picked up my fifth tub of Chanel's Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base. Out of all my bronzers, this one is always in high rotation.

I appreciate the additional plastic lid to ensure the product's longevity.

In the container, the bronzing makeup base appears to have a creamy mousse-like consistency, but it's actually a hardened cream-to-powder formula.

I like using the Chanel Le Petit Pinceau Touch-Up Brush with the Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base.

Whether used to contour or bronze, under or over foundation, all over the face, the Soleil Tan Bronzing Makeup Base can be used in various ways.

Three Shades Of Les Beige...Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Multi-Colour No.02

I love the gorgeous, pale french vanilla and black packaging of the Les Beiges powders.

When the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Multi-Colour 02 powder came out, I told myself I wasn't going to pick it up, because I had too many powders in my collection that needed to be use up. Well, that decision lasted for a week.

Since taking this photo, the domed-shaped brush included in the compact is no longer with us. When opening a product, I find it very annoying when plastic lids and/or brushes falls out of the compact.

This is probably the only time when horizontal strips look flattering.

The Les Beiges Multi-Colour has a lovely smooth texture. All three stripes are pigmented, and give the skin a beautiful warmth with a soft, luminous-sheen that looks natural.

First stripe: a creamy-nude.

Second stripe: a honey-tan.

Third stripe: a rosy-terracotta.

Either separately or mixed, this versatile product can be wore various ways: as a highlighter, contour, bronzer, blusher, eye shadow, or lightly dusted all over the face as a setting powder. Basically, I love Chanel's Les Beiges Healthy Glow Multi-Colour in No.02...I'm glad I never listen to myself :P

Les Papillons Cils

The other day, Justine and I were having one of our daily Skype chats, When I mentioned that I had a bunch of Summer looks that I didn't get a chance to post. I told her I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them. I want to post them (not wanting these images to go to waste), but I would probably delete them because we're already in Autumn; She encouraged me to post them anyway. So, I'm taking her advice, and doing so :D
