Hakuhodo 2012 Holiday Old Rose Brush Set

Hakuhodo released this exquisite Limited Edition Rose Gold Brush Set for the 2012 Holiday Season. I was very fortunate to receive this set as one of my birthday gifts from Aki...okay, so maybe I hinted, suggested, protested, begged, demanded that he get me this set for my birthday :P

The set includes this lovely non-leather makeup case.

Love the logo zipper pullers!

Is that a bulge in your pocket, or are you happy to see me? Keep scrolling and you'll find out what it is ;) By the way, I also loved that the case came with a plastic flap to protect the brushes.

These brushes are just darling!

Included in this set from left to right :

Powder/Blush Brush G5545 (Blue Squirrel and Goat).

Highlighter Brush G5521 (Blue Squirrel and Goat).

Shadow Brush J5523 (Goat): Similar, but infinitely better than MAC's 217.

Shadow/Liner Brush K005 (Weasel): Similar to MAC's 228.

Brow Brush B264 (Water Badger).

Aki had my name engraved on the handles. He got a few stamps on his point card for that :)

Also included in this set is a Eyebrow/ Eyeshadow Palette.

Yes, we have a mirror!!

All the shadows in this palette are velvety smooth and apply beautifully.

All six shadows have a marvelous muted, murky tone.

Color description from left to right

A muted brownish-taupe.

A muted blackish-brown.

A muted brownish-red clay.

A muted grayish-taupe.

A muted dark sage green.

A muted maize yellow.

Only 1,000 of these sets are available, retailing for  ¥15,645($197.68), and can be purchased here.

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.

  1. Oh so pretty! Love the personalized touch. Hope Hakuhodo USA gets some of these, also.

I got the eyebrow/eyeshadow kit on a visit to Japan last month. Best thing is that you can mix various shades to match your hair/look.

  5. Aki certainly knows how to keep his girl smiling:)
Nothing like a bit of brush porn on a Monday morning to get me WIDE awake.
I didn't even know that Hakuhodo had a makeup line:p

  9. Swoon! I didn't know Hakuhodo did personalized brushes OR a makeup line. Amazing! I have so many brush favorites it's hard, if not impossible to choose... I love the Rae Morris Radiance Brush, Koyudo (bp's and fu-pa's), Tom Ford anything, and Hakuhodo (J, S, & Kokutan Series). A Houkudou brush is on it's way. And I'm dying to try Chikuhodo's Z-series face brushes and Tanseido's brushes.

    I think I have a problem.... lol

    1. That they do! I want to try some Tom Ford brushes, but we only have one counter in Tokyo, and the prices here are doubled! I'll need to order them from the states. Speaking of brushes, I have a ton that need bathing...sigh!

Also, a woman can never have too much of anything :P

    2. Haha-- I like how you think :)

I'd be happy to help you get ahold of Tom Ford's brushes. I adore his Bronzing Brush (05) and Eye Shadow Blend Brush (13). I've also got the Eye Shadow Contour Brush (12) which I really like but probably wouldn't buy again...
