Ettusais Eye Color C BR4 Eyeshadow

After uploading the photos, I realized that I didn't take a picture of the product in it's packaging. So, this is why the shadow looks somewhat rough...I'm such a bad blogger :(

One of the things I love about living in Tokyo are all the random mini cosmetic shops that are sprinkled throughout the JR/Metro Stations and underground. Last Tuesday, on my way home from a job, I spotted a Minipla (Minipla is a chain of mini station boutiques) and decided to take a peek at whatever possible treasures I may find :D

Let me just say that I'm very proud of myself! I only walked out with ONE eyeshadow. This is a huge accomplishment for me, since the word "moderation" isn't in my vocabulary. Also, I'm quirky about always buying things in pairs; OMG! Could this be? Could this really mean that I'm on the road to cosmetic OCD recovery?...probably not :P

Anyway, I picked up the Eye Color C eyeshadow pan in BR4 from the Japanese drugstore brand Ettusais.

BR4: is a Shimmery soft champagne gold with fine gold glitter.

Japanese drugstore eye shadows can be a hit or miss for me. Some eye shadows are poorly pigmented and packed with a glittery sparkle that feels a bit too juvenile.

Ettusais was a happy medium; although, there were glittery sparkles, the pigmentation was great and the texture buttery smooth. The wear time was okay, I got about 6 hours (and that's with my beloved Nars smudge proof eyeshadow base).

My only complaint is that this eye shadows come in pan form (palette sold separately). These little homeless guys come with only 1.2g/.04oz, and retail for 840yen ($10.63). Can someone throw a sista a bone?...better yet, a lipgloss? :P

Overall, I did like the Eye Color C eyeshadow from Ettusais and I will be picking up the chocolate brown shadow in this line...Yes, my OCD is rapping at my chamber door!

Have you tried anything from Ettusais?

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.

Handbag of the Moment

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to show you what handbag I've been using these past few weeks. This handbag is from the brand Deux Lux and I've had it for about five years now. I purchased it from urbanoutfitters.com, but I can't remember how much it was...maybe $149.99???

I love the color, the criss-cross stitching, as well as the softness of the material.

I also like the antiqued metal accents.

What bag are you using at the moment?

Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream Swatches

It's been miserably humid lately that I've been keeping my makeup looks to the VERY bare minimum. Besides wearing my beloved Flash Performance Eyeliner Pencils by THREE (Honestly, these are the BEST budge-proof eyeliners ever!), I've also been using Make Up For Ever aqua creams to try to keep myself looking somewhat put together during this hellish season.

From left to right: 13, 16, 17, 15, 2.

#13: A shimmery beige-champagne with a tinge of pink.

#16: A shimmery rosy pink with a tinge of beige.

#17 A shimmery reddened-brown plum burgundy.

#15: A shimmery bronzed taupe brown.

#2: A shimmery dirt steel grey taupe with a tinge of brown.

I had #10 and 19, but I have no idea where they've gone...sigh!

These multipurpose aqua creams can be used as bases for eyeshadows, eyeshadows, eyeliners, lipsticks, blushes, and highlighters, just to name a few uses. They apply easily with enough time to blend out before setting. Make Up For Ever Aqua Creams are an ultra-pigmented, long-lasting, high-performing, versatile waterproof cream product.

Running on Empty: June Empties!

Hey all,

I know this is late, but here are my June empties :)

Shiseido's Tsubaki Damage Care Conditioner: With summer underway, I tend to go au naturel and leave my hair curly. It's just too hot to blow dry my hair, and with the high humid, all my efforts are spoiled as soon as I walk out the door. Leaving my hair curly means washing it everyday; and although I don't shampoo it everyday, I slather on the conditioner. Shiseido's Tsubaki Damage Care line is the only drug store brand that keeps my hair soft, shiny and moisturized. As long as I live in Japan, I'll always repurchase.
.

Skintimate Moisturizing Shave Gel Flirty Mango: Skintimate's Shave Gel is the only thing I'll use to shave my legs. Will always repurchase.

St.Ives Moisturizing Olive Scrub: I love St.Ives's scrubs, but this one was a disappointment! I felt the olive scrub didn't have enough microbeads (in my opinion), therefore, not doing a great job in the exfoliating department. I'll repurchase scrubs from St.Ives, but not this one.

Bath & Body Works Green Tea and Cucumber Essence:  Green Tea and Cucumber Essence was one of my favorite shower gels from BBW. Bath & Body Works discontinued it, so I won't be able to repurchase...unless you count ebay :)

Fekkai Advanced Brilliant Glossing Cream:  I used to use the entire Fekkai Glossing line, but I've moved on. I used this cream after deep conditioning my hair. Fekkai's Advanced Brilliant Glossing Cream did add extra shine to my hair, but that's about it. I won't repurchase.

La Sana hair essence: I purchased this serum while I was on vacation and found that I had forgotten my finishing gloss. This did nothing for my hair, and unfortunately I have one more of these little bottles to use up.  I definitely will not repurchase!

Maybelline The Hype Curl Volum Express Waterproof Mascara: I'm done with this mascara and I will not repurchase...enough said! If you want to know more, feel free to read my review of this mascara.

Honorable Sample Mentions:

Laura Mercier Flawless Skin One-Step Cleanser: I love Laura Mercier's beauty line, but her skin care left a lot to be desired. The Flawless Skin One-Step Cleanser left I feeling unclean. I wouldn't be the full size of these cleanser.

Fekkai Advance Shea Ultra Rich Mask: I've purchased the full size of this mask before and I love it! The Shea Ultra Rich Mask leaves my hair feeling soft and moisturizing. I will continued to always repurchase.

Chanel Precision Hydramax + Active Active Moisture Cream: This was given to my with a recent Chanel Purchase at Odakyu. I really loved this facial cream, and I was surprised at the two weeks worth of product that was in this little tube. I can't wait till I've gone through all my moisturizers to repurchase!

Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel: I really liked this cleanser. it left me skin feeling soft, clean and moisturized. I would repurchase.

Chanel Precision: This packet gave me about 3 days of product. I enjoyed this serum, and would repurchase.

Yu Be Foaming Skin Polish: I loved this exfoliating polish, but I most warn to it is a bit rough in regards to the microbeads. Once I'd done with my supply of exfoliators, I will repurchase.

Hope you enjoyed reading this post!

When Bad Things Happen To Good Makeup

Hey guys,

Here's the first of what may be many (let's hope not) makeup mishap (since I can be a little accident prone) posts.

As I was getting ready this morning, I dropped my Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder all over (melodramatic much???) the dining room rug and floor. Fortunately, I still have about 6 to 7 months of product left.

Have you had an makeup mishaps recently?

She Wore An Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Dior Vernis Bikini

Bikini is a creamy, slighty dusty, salmon coral polish. I found bikini's formula a little thicker than the usual Dior vernis, but the application was effortless (as always), smooth, and without streaking. One coat gave my nails a lovely jelly-like finish; whereas, two coats left me with a gorgeous glossy opaque finish.

Natural lighting

Indoors.

With flash.

Bikini is the perfect summer coral, and would look AMAZING on anyone and everyone! Your nails should not be without it!! I'm just head over heels in love with this polish and it's definitely a must have in my book!!!

Bikini retails for $23.00, and is still available at: sephora.com

 What's your favorite coral polish?

Bath & Body Works' Shower Gel, 'Country Apple'

Can you believe that we're already into the seventh months of 2012...I can't! Well as another month begins, so does another shower gel.

July's shower gel is Country Apple. BBW describes the scent as a "fresh combination of ripe, red apples and creamy blossoms, that's as delightful as an orchard in springtime". Country Apple leaves my skin with a scrumptiously juicy, yet refreshing apple fragrance. The fragrance is soft, simple and clean. If you're a lover of apple scents, then the Country Apple line is definitely for you!

Country Apple Shower Gel is currently on sale for $3.00 (along with the rest of the line) at bathandbodyworks.com

What body wash are you bathing with this month?

Wet N' Wild MEGA Last Lipsticks, My Thoughts and Swatches

Ever heard the expression "if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all"...well, this post will be ignoring that advice.

From left to right:

Bare It All 902C: A tawny nude

Sand Storm 913C: A reddish terracotta.

Mocha-licious 914C: A reddened mocha brown.

24 Carrot Gold 969: A medium coral orange.

Purty Persimmon 970: An intense reddish-orange.

Coral-ine 909D: A bright coral-red.

Spiked With Rum 915B: A rosy pink coco.

In the Flesh 912C: A muted rosy-pink.

Wine Room 906D: A muted berry pink.

Cinnamon Spice 917B: A deep brick red.

Cherry Bomb 918D: A deep brown based burgundy red.

Sugar Plum Fairy 908C: A deep magenta.

I would describe Wet N' Wild's Mega Last Lipsticks as being a few notches below okay. The formula is drying, flaky, and bleeds into every crack on the lips. Application was a nightmare when applying directly from the tube (I would recommend using a lip brush) . These lipsticks dragged and pulled, with no slip whatsoever. The Mega Last definitely requires a lip balm underneath as well as a gloss or balm on top. And the packaging, where do I begin with the packaging? Only eight letters come to mind when I think of the packaging...T.E.R.R.I.B.L.E!  I had zero expectations for these lipsticks, so I can't say that I was disappointed...but I surely wasn't impressed. I do have to say, out of the 12 lipsticks, 24 Carrot Gold 969, Purty Persimmon 970, and Coral-ine 909D performed the best and were my favorites.

Have you tried Wet N' Wild's Mega Last Lipsticks?
