Develop A Passion For...Sara Happ

In dire need of a lip scrub (I haven't had the time to pick one up, and I've been wearing lots of liquid lipsticks, and now my lower lip is paying for it), I popped into Cosme Kitchen to purchase Sara Happs' Peppermint lip scrub.

Sadly, they were out and, although I'm not a fan of the fruit, I got Passion Fruit because it was the most Summery scent/flavor among the lot.

After using Passion Fruit, I actually like its fruity tropical scent/flavor, It helps make the season a little more bearable (for an entire 10 seconds anyway).

A Slip Of The Lips...Sara Happ The Lip Slip One Luxe Balm

To combat wintry, chapped lips, I repurchased an old fav, Sara Happ's The Lip Slip One Luxe Balm.

The Lip Slip has a milky ballet pink tint, with silver micro shimmer; it goes on clear and glossy, yet there is a faint pale wash on my lips. Though the texture is somewhat thick, and kind of tacky, it wears comfortably.

I really like how soft, and moisturized, the Lip Slip leaves my lips. But, as soon as I got a whiff of the balm, I immediately remembered why I stopped using it. After years of use, the balm's powdery, floral scent became intolerable.

I can't return the product, and with a 3,888 yen price tag, it's hard to throw away. At this time, I'll relegate Sara Happ's The Lip Slip One Luxe Balm to my night time lip care regime. Knowing me, I'm probably going to slather on an excess amount of product onto my lips, so I can be done with it sooner. Hopefully, the scent won't add to my existing case of insomnia.

Vanilla Bean, Bean, Baby...Sara Happ Lip Scrub

In keeping with my current vanilla kick, once I finished my Sara Happ Peppermint Lip Scrub, I repurchased, and got Vanilla Bean. Vanilla Bean smells and tastes (although not edible), amazingly delicious.

The little brown box packaging is so adorable, and these just make the best stocking stuffers.

Sara Happ's Lip Scrub is a staple in my lip care regime, especially during winter. I use this exfoliator in the morning, and evening. With a small amount spread on my middle finger (there's no rhyme or reason as to why I use this finger, it's just the one I use), I work the product onto my lips in circular motions. The scrub is abrasive enough to remove flakes, or any other surface level imperfections. When the product is washed off, a balmy residue is left over; but, I feel this acts as a barrier, locking in and giving added moisture. Afterwards, my lips are soft, smooth, prepped and primed for the driest matte lipstick.

The Girl In The Red Velvet Scrub...The Lip Scrub By Sara Happ

Don't you love finding long gone, but much loved, beauty products online?...I do!

I was shopping online (like you do) at rakuten.com looking to replace my Sara Happ Peppermint lip scrub, and I found my beloved, long-discontinued, red velvet lip scrub. Who said Christmas only comes once a year?!

I haven't had red velvet cake since my trip to L.A. five years ago, and I gorged on half a dozen red velvet cupcakes...ummm, cupcakes...but, I digress.

Anyway, I was a little apprehensive to purchase since Red Velvet was discontinued a few years ago, but no, it's totally fine and dandy.

Using Red Velvet is torturous because it smells and taste just like the cake, delicious. I have to remind myself it's not for consumption, but to smooth out my pout.

Love Your Lips, Exfoliate! Sara Happ's The Lip Scrub Peppermint

In keeping with the exfoliating-theme of my last post, The Lip Scrub by Sara Happ is my exfoliator of choice to keep my pout in supreme condition.

Sara Happ Lip Scrubs comes in several scents (still not over the discontinuation of Almond Creme), and the scent of the moment is, Peppermint. I love the tingly, cooling sensation of the peppermint, as well as the delicious peppermint candy/sugary center of a York Peppermint Pattie scent of the lip scrub. Reminder, as tasty as these lip scrubs are, they are not meant to be ingested.

As recommended in the directions, I scoop a generous amount with my finger and work the sugar onto my lips and message in a firm, circular motion. On days when I'm going to wear a lipstick that has an extremely dry, less forgiving formula, or for a deep exfoliating treatment, I like to use a toothbrush (that I solely use for exfoliation). The viscosity of the large (yet, gentle), densely packaged sugar granules prevents any unwanted mess, as well as keeping it from flying all over the place when scrubbing.

The scrub does a fantastic job at buffing-out dry, flaky skin. Afterwards, the lips are baby soft and incredibly smooth. Also, the Petrolatum and oils, in the scrub, leave a nice balmy-texture that aides in hydrating the lips.

Sara Happ's The Lip Scrubs contain 30g/ 1 oz. of product and retails for 3,888 yen.
