Now that I'm wearing lighter/brighter Spring/Summer polishes (which can sometimes reveal any imperfections in my nails), it's time to break out Butter London's Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat. This basecoat provides a good base for any nail polish, but I prefer to use it with less pigmented polishes because less coats are needed to get the desired color, AND, it masks any flaws that I may have at the moment, allowing for a smoother, streak free application. Also, this basecoat has a pretty satin, nude finish; so even when I'm not painting my nails, I apply one coat to make my nails look more presentable.

The Butter London 'Hardwear P.D. Quick' Topcoat is a great topcoat that dries quick, and delivers a shiny surface. I can see this becoming a favorite among the topcoats I use.

Both of these products retail for $18 (175ml/0.5 fl oz), but they can be purchased together in the 'Top & Tails Set' for $25.

What's your favorite base and topcoat?

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.

  1. I've been eyeing this set for a while now and the only thing that has put me off is the price...but now that I've read your review...I'm glad that I haven't picked it up yet! Thanks for the post! :)

    1. The basecoat is great, but the topcoat doesn't provide much gloss :(
