Dialing M for Makeup and Everything Else in Between

Runaway Brunette!

Yup, I've dyed my hair again. Although, I loved the previous color, it would fade too quickly. So, I went with Salon de Pro.

I thought the packaging was really neat; a real interesting/fun way to dispense the product.

The useless comb that you're suppose to use to distribute the dye.

I totally forgot to take a photo while the dye was in my hair...sorry!

The end result is similar to the previous dye- an ash brown with golden accents. Let's hope this color doesn't fade as much.

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.

Ca Va? SABON BIEN!

SABON offers an array of luxurious bathing, skincare, fragrance, and aromatic products. Since its establishment in 1997 in Tel Aviv, SABON has expanded Internationally with stores in Israel, Italy, Belgium, Romania, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Canada, and the United States.

SABON's Patchouli Lavender Vanilla Shower Oil is liquid luxury! I've been sniffing this shower oil as I write this post, and the best way I can described this scent is "YOU NEED THIS IN YOUR LIFE" luscious. A lovely, subtle harmonization of lavender, vanilla, patchouli, and a bit of magic (yes, you can bottle it :P). Patchouli is a scent I avoid like the plague, but the patchouli is this shower oil is soft and sophisticated. Honestly, I can't get enough of this fragrance, I need this made into a perfume!!

The beautiful apothecary glass bottle (recyclable!), with the antiqued bronzed pump, gives the packaging a classic and elegant appearance.

The shower oil lathers wonderfully, leaving the skin soft, moisturized, without any oily residue. Love, love, love SABON's shower oils!

Sabon's Shower Oils retail for ¥3,200(500ml).

What SABON products have you tried?

Blackberry Stains

I've had this polish for so long, that the lettering has rubbed off :P Revlon's Blackberry is a sophisticated, deep, bronzed rose-red shimmer. The formula runs a little on the thin side; however, you can achieve the same opacity as the bottle with three coats. Three coats may be one coat too many for some, but Blackberry applies smoothly, streak-free, and has a lovely glow.

 Indoors.

Sunlight.

What nail polish are you wearing at the moment?

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.

Goin' My Way? China Glaze Nail Lacquer

My mani for today is China Glaze's 'Goin' My Way?'; it was released as part of the Fall 2012 Vintage Vixen Collection.

Goin' My Way? is a gorgeous burnished, copper-brown with copper shimmers. A deliciously excellent shade for Fall, if I do say so myself! Goin' my way? is opaque after two coats and wears marvelously for 4-5 days.

What are your favorite brown polishes?

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.

Hakuhodo 2012 Holiday Old Rose Brush Set

Hakuhodo released this exquisite Limited Edition Rose Gold Brush Set for the 2012 Holiday Season. I was very fortunate to receive this set as one of my birthday gifts from Aki...okay, so maybe I hinted, suggested, protested, begged, demanded that he get me this set for my birthday :P

The set includes this lovely non-leather makeup case.

Love the logo zipper pullers!

Is that a bulge in your pocket, or are you happy to see me? Keep scrolling and you'll find out what it is ;) By the way, I also loved that the case came with a plastic flap to protect the brushes.

These brushes are just darling!

Included in this set from left to right :

Powder/Blush Brush G5545 (Blue Squirrel and Goat).

Highlighter Brush G5521 (Blue Squirrel and Goat).

Shadow Brush J5523 (Goat): Similar, but infinitely better than MAC's 217.

Shadow/Liner Brush K005 (Weasel): Similar to MAC's 228.

Brow Brush B264 (Water Badger).

Aki had my name engraved on the handles. He got a few stamps on his point card for that :)

Also included in this set is a Eyebrow/ Eyeshadow Palette.

Yes, we have a mirror!!

All the shadows in this palette are velvety smooth and apply beautifully.

All six shadows have a marvelous muted, murky tone.

Color description from left to right:

A muted brownish-taupe.

A muted blackish-brown.

A muted brownish-red clay.

A muted grayish-taupe.

A muted dark sage green.

A muted maize yellow.

Only 1,000 of these sets are available, retailing for  ¥15,645($197.68), and can be purchased here.

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.

One for All, and All for THREE! THREE Flash Performance Eyeliner Pencil Swatches

I've received several emails asking for swatches of the THREE  Flash Performance Eyeliner Pencils. Originally, I wanted to feature each pencil individually with a look showcasing their brilliance, but I didn't want to delay anyone's purchase. So, instead of sending emails of individual color swatches, I've decided to post all of them :)

Burnished Rouge! Tom Ford Nail Lacquer

I'm a huge sucker for deep red anything.  So, once I saw this polish on saks.com, I didn't hesitate to order it.  But the satisfaction of my purchase was quickly short-lived; within a few days,  I received a cancellation email notifying me that this item had sold out. Months had passed, and I was able to put my loss behind me and move on with my life. That is, until one day as I was online shopping at selfridges.com, and found Burnished Rouge was available. With the assistance of the immaculate Kate, I was able to attain this radiant lovely lacquer.

 Indoors.

 Sunlight.

A dazzling blackened-brown based, deep maroon-red, with ruby-red shimmers. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the formula of this lacquer. The application is smooth, streak-free, and opaque after two coats; although, I prefer the look of Burnished Rouge after a third coat. Another pleasant surprise was in the wear time of the polish; Burnished Rouge wore marvelously for six days, before chipping!

Tom Ford Nail Lacquers retail for $30, yes a steep price for a nail polish, but I'm more than satisfied with the results, and I will be purchasing more.

And for those who live in Japan, the Tom ford beauty Lip Colors (¥6,300) and Nail Lacquers(¥3,885) are exclusively available at Hankyu Umeda department store in Osaka.

Have you tried the Tom Ford Nail Lacquer's?

Ravishing to the Core! Le Metier de Beaute 'Color Core' Moisture Stain Lipstick Swatches

I adore the Le Metier de Beaute 'Color Core' Moisture Stain Lipsticks! The Color Core lipsticks have a wonderfully pigmented formula that offers full color coverage. The texture is rich and velvety, with either a creamy semi-matte or understated frost finish. Although I don't find that these lipsticks provide much moisture, they don't flake, crack, or dry out the lips. Rather, they feel very comfortable, are incredibly long-wearing, and leave a lovely, even stain.

Le Metier de Beaute 'Color Core' Moisture Stain Lipsticks come in 26 beautiful shades and are named after vacation spots through out the world.

From left to right: San Tropez, Summerland, Captiva, Nevis.

From left to right: Palm Springs, Miami, Bondi Beach, Thailand.

From left to right: Fiji, Dubai, Cannes, Paris.

From left to right: Marrakesh, Ibiza, Palm Beach, rio de Janero.

From left to right: Monaco, Riviera, China Beach, Bombay.

From left to right: Sydney, Wine on the Vine, Madaket, Red My Lips.

From left to right: Uma Paro, Castelo, I'm Worn This Way, Kona, Bali.

My favorite shades are: San Tropez, Summerland, Captiva,Thailand, Paris, Marrakesh, Ibiza, Palm Beach, rio de Janero, Monaco, Riviera, China Beach, Bombay, Sydney, Wine on the Vine, Madaket, Red My Lips, Uma Paro, Castelo, I'm Worn This Way, Kona, and Bali...basically all of them :P

Running on Empty: October Empties!

October's empties are coming to you a little late, and the reason for this is that I haven't been home to photograph these products in natural lighting until today.

Redken Smooth Down Shampoo and Conditioner: This is my favorite shampoo and conditioner! Redken did replace Smooth Down with Smooth Lock (which I've tired and love just them same). I did notice that Smooth Lock contains almond oil instead of Smooth down's macadamia oil. Will forever repurchase this line!

Tsubaki Damage Care Treatment: this is a great deep conditioning treat that I like to use once a week. Will repurchase.

Kerastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique: I been using this line for years now, and enjoy using this leave-in condition after a deep conditioning treatment. Will repurchase.

Bath & Body Works' Forever Sunshine Shower Gel: last month was the first time that I tried this shower gel, and I loved it! Will repurchase.

Honorable mentions:

Philosophy Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-aging Eye Cream: What can I say...I HATED (yes, I know hate is a strong word, but I do!!) this eye cream. I dislike the Philosophy skincare line, and the eye cream was no exception. This eye cream irritated and BURNED my eyes. My eyes felt as if someone has thrown salt in them, and then proceeded to chop onions. Definitely would NOT repurchase, and would advise others against it!!

Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish: Generally I'm not a fan of Laura Mercier's Skincare line, but I did like this exfoliator. Flawless Skin left my face feeling smooth and for a lack of a better word...polished :P I would repurchase.

StriVectin-SD Intensive Concentrate for Stretch Marks & Wrinkles: I'm not a fan of this brand, and this product did nothing in the moisturizing department. Wouldn't repurchase!

What products did you finish in the month of October?

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.
