Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Swatches

Hey guys,

Here are some swatches of the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blushes I own. I got these lovelies back in January during my trip to Los Angeles. Tarte isn't sold in Japan...so, instead of having buyer's remorse for not picked up more when I had the chance, I decided to buy all the Amazonian clay blush shades that were available at the time. Mind you, a month after I came back from my trip, Tarte released four more shades...Curse you Tarte! >:(

From left to right: Blissful, Tipsy, Amused, Natural Beauty.

Blissful: An intense pinkish-coral with a subtle sheen.

Tipsy: A shimmery peach-coral.

Amused: A matte blue-toned bright pink.

Natural Beauty: I agree with Tarte's color description of  Natural Beauty; a muted strawberry red with a sheen finish.

From left to right: Exposed, Dollface, Flush, Blushing Bride.

Exposed: A matte muted dusty rose brown.

Dollface: A mid-tone neutral pink with a subtle sheen.

Flush: A matte mid-tone fuchsia.

Blushing Bride: A plum wine with micro gold glitter.

Although these blushes don't live up to their 12 hour claim, their formula does provide a good amount of wear time, I get about 6 to 7 hours of wear time. They are pigmented, soft in texture, blend smoothly, buildable, and provide a soft natural flush. Also, the amazonian blushes. The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blushes come in a beautiful range of colors that would flatter a wide range of skin tones. I would definitely recommend looking into these blushes  :)

The Amazonian Clay blushes retail for $25.00, and can be purchased at: tarte.com, sephora.com and anywhere else Tarte cosmetics are sold.

Have you tried the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blushes? if so, what is your favorite shade?

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.

Chanel Fleur de Lotus Spring 2012 Collection

Hi everyone!

Here are the items I picked up from Chanel's Asia-exclusive 'Fleur de Lotus' Collection:

Joues Contraste Powder Blush in 69 Fleur de Lotus 5,300 yen ($65.37) , Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadow in 35 Rives 6,900 yen ($85.10), and the Illusion D’Ombre Long-Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in 87 Riviére.

Rives is a warm, neutral palette that offers an array of stunning effortless looks. The quality of these eye shadows are immaculate; they had me professing my ongoing love with Chanel to the SA at the counter. To think, I almost passed this Jem up, assuming it would be similar to some of the other Chanel Quadras I have. I'm so glad I didn't listen to myself ( I never do), because Rives is a gorgeous Quadra, and I would highly recommend it to everyone (i.e. Amy...that means you! :P).

Color description from left to right:

Les 4 Ombres in Rives: A shimmery peach-beige, a pearlized ivory white, a semi-matte dark bark brown with tiny gold shimmers, and a satin plumed mid-toned brown (my favorite shade in the quad).

The Illusion D’Ombre in Riviére was just about sold out as soon as it hit the counters. I'm lucky to have been at a Chanel counter the day it was released ( OKAY, so maybe it wasn't luck...just my obsessive-self counting down the days on my beauty calendar, to ensure my person would be first in line at the Chanel counter because I knew this piece was limited edition, and would sell out quickly :D). Riviére is a beautiful shade for Spring/Summer.

Let me say this again...I love BLUSH! This blush is pure love! It's just marvelous; a perfect shade for this season. Fleur de Lotus gives this splendorous coral-pink radiance to the cheeks. Every time I've worn Fleur de Lotus, I have been complimented on having a beautiful, radiant glow. Thank you Chanel ;)

Color description from left to right:

Illusion D' Ombre in Riviere: A glimmering grayed silvery sea-foam green with a golden khaki sheen.

Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Fleur de Lotus: an intense pink coral/coral pink.

Tasty Sweet Gifts From Kyoto!

Yesterday, I meet up with my good friends Emi and Juri. Emi got me some lovely and tasty treats from her trip to Kyoto.

Kyoto is one of my favorite cities in Japan. If you ever come to Japan, you HAVE TO visit Kyoto, especially during Spring!

I screamed when I saw my name was embroidered on the handkerchief.

 Ajyarimochi  is a Japanese dessert.

Ajyarimochi is filled with Anko (sweet azuki (red beans) bean paste).

Emi, I know you read this blog, so I wanted to let you know that I cherish you and value our friendship. I don't deserve you!!

Rescue Beauty Lounge 'Halcyon'

Wow, three post in one day...I'm on a roll! Halcyon is one of four nail lacquers recently released in the Fan Collection by Rescue Beauty Lounge. I ordered three of the four polishes during the pre-sale and Halcyon was the one I anticipated the most.

Rescue Beauty Lounge describes Halcyon as a 'soft, sage green with a pink glimmer of brilliant reflective shine" and I agree with the description (sort of :P).

 Indoors.

Halcyon's formula runs thin, so I needed to apply four coats achieve the same color as seen in the bottle...a little disappointing.

 With flash.

Another disappointment was the weak visibility of the pink micro glitter; I had hoped that the pink glimmer would be more prominent in this polish.

Natural light.

Although, I was a little dissatisfied with the lack of complexity and pink glimmer/micro glitter in Halcyon; I do appreciate it's subtle beauty and welcome Halcyon into my collection. Rescue Beauty Lounge nail lacquers retail for $20 (12ml/ 0.4 fl oz) and can be purchased at www.rescuebeauty.com. Rescue Beauty Lounge does offer International shipping. I paid $18.50, which I believe it a flat rate International shipping fee.

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.

Bath & Body Works' Shower Gel, 'Flowering Herbs'

Hi guys,

This month's shower gel was going to be Flowering Herbs...BUT,  after using it, I can't see myself committing to it for a month. Today was my first time trying Flowering Herbs and I absolutely HATED it!! As I used it, the shower gel gave me an instant headache and made me feel nauseous. The scent is a vile, overpowering herbal, wilted-floral fragrance. I disliked this shower gel so much, that I was going to post a negative review on the Bath & Body Works website (something I've never done!). However, it's no longer on the website because it's been discontinued, and I understand why!! It's been a few hours since I took a shower and I still have a headache and feel nauseous. Going to lay down folks...be back in a moment.

What is your least favorite Bath & Body Works scent or any other scent for that matter?

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.

Butter London 'Top & Tails Set'

Now that I'm wearing lighter/brighter Spring/Summer polishes (which can sometimes reveal any imperfections in my nails), it's time to break out Butter London's Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat. This basecoat provides a good base for any nail polish, but I prefer to use it with less pigmented polishes because less coats are needed to get the desired color, AND, it masks any flaws that I may have at the moment, allowing for a smoother, streak free application. Also, this basecoat has a pretty satin, nude finish; so even when I'm not painting my nails, I apply one coat to make my nails look more presentable.

The Butter London 'Hardwear P.D. Quick' Topcoat is a great topcoat that dries quick, and delivers a shiny surface. I can see this becoming a favorite among the topcoats I use.

Both of these products retail for $18 (175ml/0.5 fl oz), but they can be purchased together in the 'Top & Tails Set' for $25.

What's your favorite base and topcoat?

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.
