Coils Around The Lashes: Helena Rubinstein's Lash Queen Fatal Black WP 03 Captivating Bronze Mascara

Helena Rubinstein's Lash Queen Fatal Black WP (waterproof) in 03 Captivating Bronze is one of my favorite mascaras.

Let's take a moment to admire the bronzed beauty that is the Lash Queen Fatal Black WP's mascara casing. The tube's sleek, serpentine-texture, hefty weight, and click closure, is pure luxury for a mascara connoisseur.

 Front.

The mascara wand has a unique widened-hood Cobra head shape.

 Side.

Placing my lashes in the dip, I move upwards while wiggling the wand in a side-to-side motion.

 Back.

The Lash Queen Fatal Black WP has a wet formula, but it does dry down after some use (which is my preferred consistency); It doesn't clump or flake. It's also smudge proof, and waterproof, perfect for Tokyo's humidity.

Lash Queen Fatal Black WP 03 Captivating Bronze.

I LOVE the murky, dark-khaki (with a tinge of olive) brown color of this mascara. A Summer staple for me, as I feel black can look too harsh during the day.

For the life of me, I could NOT get a good shot of my lashes.

My lashes are fairly full, decently thick, have a natural curl and are very long. Gosh, I sound pretentious, but those are my lashes.

Helena Rubinstein's Lash Queen Fatal Black WP mascara lifts (if you have stubborn lashes, you'll still need to curl them), separates, defines, thickens, and lengthens. This is my 8th tube of Lash Queen Fatal Black WP, and at a retail price of ¥4,500 ($44.32), it's a true testament of how great of a mascara it is.

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.

Which Side Your Lips Are Buttered On...Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Swatches

Not that long ago, Walgreens.com was having a bogo 50% off the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters. Always one to capitalize on a bargain, I purchased the remaining 7 shades on my Lip Butter "to get' list.

I must say, the Lip Butters have gotten a lot of mileage this Summer.

From left to right: Berry Smoothie, Sweet Tart, Lollipop.

From left to right: Peach Parfait, Tutti Frutti, Candy Apple, Cherry Tart.

Out of the seven new additions, my favorites are: Berry Smoothie, Lollipop. Peach Parfait, Tutti Frutti, Candy Apple, and Cherry Tart...basically, all of them.

Searching For Beauty Products is Half the fun: So Lonely In Gorgeous Scavenger Hunt Giveaway!

Didn't have a picture for the giveaway, so instead, here's a pic Aki took while I was taking a siesta; thought it was funny how he placed the frankenkitty pillow on my head...guess I was taking a cat nap :P

Instead of doing another run-of-the-mill giveaway, I've decided to do a beauty scavenger hunt to make it more interactive and exciting :)

The Rules:

Must be a gorgeous member.

Create a board on pinterest and title it "So Lonely In Gorgeous Scavenger Hunt Giveaway"

Now, what you pin is totally up to you. It can be a collage of cosmetics (favorite looks, lipsticks, blushers, eye shadows, nail polishes, past, present and up coming cosmetic collection releases, products you can't live without, what you're loving right now, etc), hair care, skin care, home decor, art, music, food, vacation spots, your muses/inspirations, and so on...you get the gist.

Once you've completed your board, add the link to the comment section of this or one of the weekly giveaway reminder posts.

The final day to submit your board will be January 5th, 2014.

This giveaway is open Internationally!

You may be wondering, "how does this giveaway work?" Well, I'm glad you asked because it's all based on creativity, points, and a hat :D

You automatically get two entries for being a gorgeous member.

Blog or twitter (please include the link in the comment section) about the giveaway on a weekly basis and earn 2 points for every week.

If for some reason you can't do the pinterst thing, then write your answers to the same general topics in the comment section for two additional points.

Cutie fishball, you already earned yourself two extra points for suggesting I do something with pinterest  ^o^

By posting your Pinterest link, you earn an additional 10 entries.

An additional 5 entries for creativity and effort (i.e. posting your own photos/images).

Finally, and most importantly, the prizes:

2 Addiction Eye Shadows (your choice).

2 Addiction Cheek Sticks (your choice).

2 THREE Flash Performance Eyeliner Pencils (your choice).

2 Laduree Pressed Cheek Color (your choice).

All the prizes will be purchased by me :D

Looking forward to your entries!

The Pomp & Ceremony of Achieving A Bronzed Glow: Laura Mercier Baked Blush Bronze In Ritual.

I've had Laura Mercier's Baked Blush Bronze in Ritual for 11 days, and I'm totally enamored with it!

The compact comes with a generous size mirror.

Each Baked Blush Bronzer has it's own unique marbleized pattern.

Swatch of Ritual.

While swatching, Ritual had me going Ooh-Aah, and it feels absolutely heavenly on the skin. Ritual is a pinky-bronze brown with a sun-kissed, satin finish. I'm a huge fan of pinkish/red toned bronzers; I find they give a more natural "been playing in the sun" look. By the way, I've tired Ritual on the lids and it looks lovely.

Released with Laura Mercier's Summer 2013 'Folklore' Collection, Rital is limited edition, so if you can get your hands on it, do so!

The Folklore Collection launched on August 2nd in Japan, so I'm thinking about picking up a few more items.

Did you pick up any items from the Folklore Collection?

Collection 2000 Colour Extreme 08 Firecracker & 09 Playful Lipstick Swatches

I've put myself on a lipstick ban for the moment (only making exceptions for limited edition releases), and last week's lipsticks were from Collection 2000 Colour Extreme lipsticks in Firecracker and Playful.

I purchased these lipsticks while on holiday in London over 3 years ago, so I don't remember how much they were or if they're still available...sorry!

From left to right: 8 Firecracker, 9 Playful.

I found the Colour Extemes have a lot of slip, so I prefer to apply them with a lip brush. These lipsticks are very pigmented, but they also look pretty applied as a stain.

What lipsticks have you been wearing recently?

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.

Lizzy Loves Mango Kiwi! SABON Shower Oil in Mango Kiwi

August's body wash is Sabon's shower oil in Mango Kiwi, released this Summer as part of the limited edition 'Sweet Summer Series'. Outside of Japan, the Mango Kiwi scent is part of the permanent lineup, I wonder why that's so?! Mango Kiwi is a delicious, sweet (but, not repugnant sweet) fruity blend of mango, kiwi, and pear. Generally, I'm not a fan of mangoes (the fruit), and I'm deathly allergic to kiwi, but this fragrance is incredible! I'm in LOVE with this scent! So much so that whenever I use it, I can't stop smelling myself...that sounds bad, but it's true.

SABON's Shower Oils contain 500ml (so most likely this will be September's body wash as well), and retails for ¥3,200.

What SABON scent have you tried?

Eyes Love You! Hide Museum 2013

Last Saturday, Aki and I went to the Hide Museum in Odaiba.

Hide was the lead guitarist of the legendary hard rock band X Japan, and they were the pioneers in founding Visual Kei. He also had a successful solo career, until his untimely death in 1998. For those of you who may not be familiar with Hide, please feel free to read this link.

I love how DiverCity Tokyo Plaza decorated the entrance of the festival area with images of hide.

During the day, the area was too congested to take a photo of the trailer. This was taken 40 minutes before closing.

Hide Museum 2013 'To The Future' is a portable exhibit that features personal artifacts from the artist such as a visual discography, guitars, clothing and accessories worn in videos, concerts and photo shoots; they also have Illustrations and writings as well as clips from videos and concerts. Along with each piece, there are several excerpts throughout the exhibition giving fans a more candid glimpse into the mind and life of Hide.

Back in 2002, I was fortunate enough to have gone to the original Hide Museum before it closed in 2005.

This truck is painted just like the Burny Yellow Heart Guitar that hide used during X Japan's last live concert.

Hide is one of my favorite musician (if not my MOST favorite), and his songs are always on the top of my daily playlist. Sometimes when I'm listening to his songs, I catch myself in a bittersweet moment knowing that he'll never release another song or album; that as much as I love the music, this is it. We will never hear anything new. I always wonder what could have been, and how he would have evolved as an artist. Hide made a great impact in the Japanese music industry, and his influence and popularity continues to thrive.

My first white day gift from Aki (he's making a cameo), a B.C. Rich Mockingbird; the signature shape of hide's guitars.

Who are some of your favorite recording artist?

Looking gorgeous one lipstick at a time.
